1. Site use

Porchlightdesk.com is operated by Porch Light Desk (“we,” “us,” “the studio”). By browsing or using this site, you agree to these Terms of Service / Terms of Use. Do not misuse the site, attempt unauthorized access, scrape content for commercial reuse without permission, or submit false or abusive form data.

2. Project agreements

Website design and related services are governed by a written project agreement, proposal, or invoice we send after intake. That document controls scope, timeline, deliverables, and fees for your project. These site Terms apply to general use of the website; the project agreement controls paid work. If they conflict on a project matter, the project agreement wins.

3. Payment terms

Unless a project agreement says otherwise, fees are billed 50% up front to begin work and 50% on completion before final handoff or go-live. Cart submissions on the pricing page are requests to the developer only — no card is charged on this site. We will follow up with payment instructions. Late or unpaid balances may pause work or delay launch.

4. Intellectual property

After you pay the full project fee, you own the final deliverables we create for you under that project (site files, custom copy, and graphics produced for you), subject to any third-party licenses (fonts, stock, plugins, or platforms). Until full payment, we retain ownership of unfinished work. Porch Light Desk may show completed work in our portfolio, case studies, and marketing unless a written agreement says otherwise. Pre-existing studio tools, frameworks, and methods remain ours.

5. No search-ranking guarantees

We may implement sound structure, local pages, and technical SEO practices. We do not guarantee search engine rankings, traffic volume, leads, or sales. Search results depend on many factors outside our control.

6. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent allowed by law, Porch Light Desk is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or lost-profit damages arising from use of this site or from project services. Our total liability for a project will not exceed the fees you paid us for that project. The site and tools are provided “as is” without warranties beyond those required by law.

7. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Tennessee, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Courts in Tennessee are the exclusive venue for disputes arising from these Terms or our services, unless a project agreement names a different venue.
